Shari J. Dickson

Shari J. Dickson, 55, Roscommon, died June 29, 2017, at St. Mary’s of Michigan Medical Center - Saginaw.

Funeral services were held July 2 at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon, with Mary Beth Brady officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

She was born Sept. 14, 1961, in Alpe­na, the daughter of Robert Joseph Ben­nett and Opal Jeane Watson. She resided in Roscommon since 1983, coming from Clarkston.

For almost 20 years she was the nu­trition instructor in the family nutrition program at the Michigan State Univer­sity Extension office in Roscommon.

She was active with Charles M. Engel VFW Post 4159 in Roscommon, where she had been past president of both the current Auxiliary and former Ladies Auxiliary. She was involved with many post activities and worked their Sunday breakfast at the juice bar. She also vol­unteered for Bingo at The Lighthouse at Roscommon Health and Rehabilitation Center. She absolutely loved her grand­children most of all.

Preceding her in death was her father, Robert Bennett.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sabrina (fiancé, Adam McGillis) Ross of Roscommon and Jaclyn (significant other, Daniel Heinz) Ross of Green Bay, WI; three grandchildren, Dallas McGil­lis, Kyra McGillis and Matthew Heinz; mother, Jeane (Bruce) Olson of Eagle Harbor; stepmother, Jacqueline Bennett of Auburn Hills; siblings, Susan (Doug­las) Claycomb of Lake Orion, Robert (Vicki) Bennett Jr. of Millington, TN, Erik (Sybil) Olson of Clarkston, Debra McCormick of Chesterfield and Tammy Kobe of Clinton Township; and several nieces and nephews.
