Collins Principal Amy Peterson said each classroom submitted their choice for favorite book Feb. 19, which was the “sweet 16” round of the tournament. Each week following, as the classrooms read all 16 books, they voted on their favorite of the week. The winning books in the voting advanced to the successive round.

On March 21, the tournament winner was determined, which was “The Book with No Pictures,” the book selected by Howard’s class. Each classroom received a copy of the winning book, paid for with funds provided by Eagles Auxiliary 3201, Houghton Lake.

Collins students celebrated the end of Reading Month by dressing as their favorite book characters March 22, the last day of school before spring break.
